Ever hear that song by Sugarland? “Gotta be more than this […] I’m gonna take my chances. Taking a chance I might, find what I’m looking for. There’s gotta be something more.”
This is echoing in my head as I pursue newborn photography as a career instead of an expensive hobby.
I’m so blessed that I found my work from home job 4 years ago. It has supported our family, and allowed me to be there for things that matter so much to me. School birthdays, do my daughters hair, first days of school, and of course extra snuggle time instead of commuting a half hour each way. I’ll always be grateful for my job as a nurse case manager, but THERE’S GOTTA BE SOMETHING MORE.
I can’t imagine sitting at a desk 8 hours a day 5 days a week for the next 30 years.
I daydream about the day I can quit my job or at least drop to part-time. I imagine photographing the miracle of pregnancy, posing sweet brand new babies, getting chunky sitters to give me a toothy grin, and finding out if a 1 year old loves or hates their first taste of cake.
Like the saying goes, “Choose a job you love and you will never work a day in your life.” And there’s no time like now to start!!!
We should all have goals-what’s yours?!
